NEMA Rating aik American standard hai jo electrical enclosures (boxes) ki hifazat ke liye istemal hota hai. Ye bilkul IP Rating ki tarah hota hai, lekin ye zyada pur-atamaad (comprehensive) hai kyunke is mein sirf dhool aur pani hi nahi, balkay zang (corrosion) aur baraf (ice) se hifazat ka bhi test kiya jata hai.

​Mashhoor NEMA Ratings aur un ka Matlab:

  1. NEMA 1 (Indoor):
    • ​Ye bunyadi hifazat hai. Ye sirf hath lagne se aur halki phulki dhool se bachata hai. Ye IP20 ke barabar hota hai.

  2. NEMA 3R (Outdoor):
    • ​Ye barish aur barf se bachata hai. Ye aksar un boxes mein hota hai jo ghar ke bahar lagay hotay hain (jesay main meters). Ye IP24 ke barabar hota hai.

  3. NEMA 4 (Watertight):
    • ​Ye barish, mitti aur hose se anay wali pani ki dhaar ko rokta hai. Ye IP65/66 ke barabar hota hai.

  4. NEMA 4X (Corrosion Resistant):
    • ​Ye electrician ke liye bohat ahem hai. Is mein "X" ka matlab hai ke ye zang (rust) se bhi mahfooz hai.
    • Karachi ke liye: DHA ya Clifton jaisay ilaqon mein jahan samundari hawa zang lagati hai, wahan NEMA 4X sab se behtareen hai.

  5. NEMA 12 (Industrial Indoor):
    • ​Ye factory ke andar istemal hota hai jahan tel (oil), coolants aur dhool urti hai. Ye IP54 ke barabar hai.

  6. NEMA 6P (Submersible):
    • ​Ye pani mein doobne ke liye hota hai, bilkul IP68 ki tarah.
