4. Kia Hai aur Kia Nahi? (Lead-Acid vs Lithium)

  • Kia Hai: Is mein fast charging hai (2-3 ghante mein full), 90% tak discharge ho sakti hai, aur wazan mein halki hai.
  • Kia Nahi: Is mein pani (distilled water) dalne ki koi zaroorat nahi hoti. Is se koi zehrili gas nahi nikalti, is liye isay kamre ke andar bhi lagaya ja sakta hai.

​Is project mein humne Longi 645W ke high-efficiency panels ka istemal kiya hai. In panels ki behtareen performance hasil karne ke liye humne wiring ko is tarah design kiya hai:

1. String Mapping (7+7 Configuration)

​Humne kul 14 panels ko do hisson mein taqseem kiya hai:

  • String A: 7 Panels (Series mein)
  • String B: 7 Panels (Series mein) In dono strings ko Nitrox 8kW ke alag-alag MPPT inputs par connect kiya gaya hai.

2. Is Configuration ke Technical Faide

  • Voltage Optimization: Aik panel ka open-circuit voltage (V_{oc}) takreeban 45V - 50V hota hai. 7 panels series mein lagane se string ka voltage 315V se 350V ke darmiyan rehta hai, jo Nitrox inverter ki MPPT range ke liye bilkul perfect hai.
  • Shadow Management: Agar din ke kisi hissay mein aik string par halka sa saya (shadow) aata hai, to dusri string mukammal efficiency ke sath bijli banati rahegi. Is se poora system mutasir nahi hota.
  • Current (Ampere) Control: Longi 645W ke panels ka current takreeban 13A - 14A hota hai. Double string banane se inverter par load divide ho jata hai aur wiring garam nahi hoti.

  • Jung (Corrosion) se bachati hai: Karachi jaise saahli (coastal) ilaqay mein jahan hawa mein namak zyada hota hai, ye wire kabhi kaali nahi hoti.
  • Conductivity barkarar rakhti hai: Wire saaf rehti hai to current ka flow hamesha behtar rehta hai aur voltage drop nahi hota.

Double Insulation ka Faida

​Humne jo wire use ki hai wo double layer insulated hai:

  1. Internal Layer: Jo conductor ko protect karti hai.
  2. External UV-Resistant Layer: Solar panels dhoop mein hote hain, ye layer sakht garmi aur suraj ki shuaon (UV rays) se wire ko phatne ya sakht hone se bachati hai.

Project Overview

​This project involved the design and installation of a high-performance solar solution for a multi-story residence in Karachi. The goal was to provide maximum energy independence, protect sensitive electronics, and implement a smart dual-meter billing strategy.

1. Power Conversion: Inverex Nitrox 8kW (IP65 - Y5 Series)

​We selected the Inverex Nitrox 8kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter as the heart of the system.

  • IP65 Weatherproofing: Given Karachi's humidity and dust, the IP65-rated casing ensures the internal electronics remain sealed and protected.
  • Y5 Warranty: This model comes with a 5-year replacement warranty, offering the client long-term peace of mind.
  • Unbalanced Load Management: The system is engineered to handle up to 50% unbalanced load on each phase, preventing trips when power usage varies between floors.

2. Solar Generation: LONGi Hi-MO 6 (645W) Panels

​We utilized the latest LONGi Hi-MO 6 panels featuring HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) technology.

  • 7+7 Double String Configuration: I designed the array into two separate strings of 7 panels each. This balances the voltage perfectly for the inverter’s dual MPPT trackers, maximizing generation during early morning and late evening.

3. Energy Storage: 100Ah 48V Lithium (LiFePO4)

  • BMS Integration (PCS Port): I established a direct communication link between the battery's Management System and the inverter. This ensures the inverter monitors cell temperature and voltage for optimized charging and safety.
  • Longevity: With over 6,000 life cycles, this battery is designed to provide reliable backup for the next 10 to 15 years.

4. The "Sameer Ali" Standard: Wiring & Switching Logic

​The true quality of an installation lies in the details of the wiring and protection.

  • Tinned Copper Double-Insulated Wiring: We used high-grade Tinned Copper DC cables. The tin coating is essential in coastal cities like Karachi to prevent oxidation (corrosion), while the double insulation provides UV protection.
  • Industrial Dual-Meter Changeover: To manage electricity costs effectively, I installed a 100 Amp Industrial Handle Changeover (Khaiber Brand). This allows the client to rotate the load between two K-Electric meters every 15 days, balancing the billing slabs.
  • 4-Pole Isolation: We utilized 4-Pole breakers for all switching. This ensures that both the three phases and the neutral are completely isolated, eliminating risks of back-feed or residual current faults.
